The United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday signed off on a sweeping, first-of-its-kind treaty to regulate the international arms trade, brushing aside worries from U.S. gun rights advocates that the pact could lead to a national firearms registry and disrupt the American gun market.
The long-debated U.N. Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) requires countries to regulate and control the export of weaponry such as battle tanks, combat vehicles and aircraft and attack helicopters, as well as parts and ammunition for such weapons. It also provides that signatories will not violate arms embargoes, international treaties regarding illicit trafficking, or sell weaponry to a countries for genocide, crimes against humanity or other war crimes.
Now isn’t it ironic that the King wants to sign this sweeping, ambiguous treaty when he is one of the most proliferate gun running Kings we’ve known. He supplies Libya with arms that went into the hands of AQ and muzzie bro.
He supplies arms and other weaponry to Syria, a story that was well known long before anyone in Congress ever got wind of it. The Whole ME knew the mission in Benghazi was a well orchestrated gun running of arms in which Ambassador Stevens was deeply involved diverting them first to Turkey and onto Syria.
As usual Congress can’t figure out what the whole thing was about. Witnesses came forth telling one story after another. And what happens? Nothing! It’s as clear as the noses on our faces what went on, but somehow Congress can’t get to the bottom of it???? They simply do not want to do a thing about it.
And of course, let’s not forget about Fast and Furious where the ATF and Eric Holder were involved in gun running into Mexico and other South American countries. That scandal died on the vine as the others as we know.
This is what Texas AG, Greg Abbott has to say about this UN Arms Treaty in a letter he sent to King Barry:
“The UN has concluded its negotiations on the Arms Trade Treaty,” Mr. Abbot writes. “It is now up to you to sign it — or reject it. Do not sign this treaty.”
Mr. Abbott writes that he understands the apparent purpose is to combat illegal arms trafficking around the world, but that the treaty could draw law-abiding gun owners and gun operators “into a complex web of bureaucratic red tape created by a new department at the UN devoted to overseeing the treaty.”
“As with most so-called international-law documents promulgated by the UN, the draft treaty is not written using the precise, unambiguous language required of a good legal document,” he continues. “Instead, the treaty employs sweeping rhetoric and imprecise terminology that could be used by those who seek to undermine our liberties to impose any number of restrictions on the right of law-abiding Americans to keep and bear arms.”
Good for AG Abbott and I hope other AGs of the states will join him in his suit against the King Barry administration. This is so unconstitutional. Not that the King gives a damn about our Constitution.
“If the UN Arms Trade Treaty is not stopped at the federal level, I — and my fellow state attorneys general — will take up the fight to preserve the Constitution. Ratification of this treaty would compel immediate legal action to enforce the Constitution’s guarantee that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed,” AG Abbott concluded.
Critics of the treaty were heartened by the U.S. Senate’s resistance to ratifying the document, assuming President Obama sent it to the chamber for ratification. In its budget debate late last month, the Senate approved a nonbinding amendment opposing the treaty offered by Sen. James M. Inhofe, Oklahoma Republican, with eight Democrats joining all 45 Republicans backing the amendment.
Even if the Senate manages to stop ratification of this UN Arms Treaty, King Barry has threatened to use an Executive Order to place it into the law of our land. If he does this, high treason is then a very real issue. And the King needs to then be arrested for treason.
