A BIG WIN FOR US and AMERICA

“With 34 Republican senators now opposing a United Nations effort to regulate international waters, the Law of the Sea treaty effectively has no way forward in the U.S. Senate.

Republican Sens. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Rob Portman of Ohio, Mike Johanns of Nebraska and Johnny Isakson of Georgia joined 30 other GOP members in agreeing to vote against the U.N. treaty.

South Carolina Republican Sen. Jim DeMint helped lead the conservative effort on Capitol Hill to rally senators against the treaty, which has been pushed by chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee John Kerry and notably backed by Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain. ”

(McCain  must have turned into a communist in the Hotel Hanoi.)

Business groups like the American Petroleum Institute and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as well as Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also support the Law of the Sea treaty, which would give unprecedented taxing and permitting authority over activity on international waters to a U.N.-created agency.

“Proponents of the Law of the Sea treaty aspire to admirable goals, including codifying the U.S. Navy’s navigational rights and defining American economic interests in valuable offshore resources. But the treaty’s terms reach well beyond those good intentions,” Ayotte and Portman wrote in a Monday letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

“This agreement is striking in both the breadth of activities it regulates and the ambiguity of obligations it creates,” the pair continued. “It’s 320 articles and over 200 pages establish a complex regulatory regime that applies to virtually any commercial or governmental activity related to the oceans — from seaborne shipping, to drug and weapon interdiction, to operation a manufacturing plant near a coastal waterway.”

A treaty needs 67 votes in the Senate to be ratified, so opponents can now defeat the treaty with 34 nay votes.”

Now we hold our breath to see if the Occupier in Chief tries to end run this with an Executive Order.  Thank your Senators for this victory over the Deviant’s agenda to further destroy us.

  1. Indeed, that is good news. Now the UN ATT garbage needs to be killed off.

What is baffling is that the Zero administration continues to promote these anti-American programs as if nobody is watching, especially in an election year.

    • HN,

Right we need to fight that one too. I have been signing all the petitions against it plus writing my two Senators, one of whom is Rand Paul. He wrote me back saying he will vote NO on anything that would jeopardize the 2nd Amendment Rights.

It’s funny, we have a democrat governor and legislature, but we have some of the best gun laws in KY protecting our rights. We are even allowed to buy a machine gun in Kentucky. I was looking at KY’s gun laws a couple days ago and my jaw dropped. Also we can carry a gun in our cars without a C&C. We have the Stand Your Ground Law too. On the property people live they need no license to use a gun on said property and that includes renters like the Hawk and me. So I feel pretty good about our laws.

But, I know the Occupier is desperate to get that ATT passed. I’m about to put a list of the Senators up who voted down the LOST Treaty. Then besides McCain try to figure out which repubs did not vote it down. There was a total of 7. Sounds like we could figure out who the repub globalists are that way. And GET THEM OUT!

I forgot to reply to the “What is baffling is that the Zero administration continues to promote these anti-American programs as if nobody is watching, especially in an election year.”

I think he doesn’t care. I think he is so cocksure he’s going to win the election he doesn’t care what we think. Look at all the stupid things he keeps saying almost on a daily basis now. Or maybe he’s finally going to implode. Oh, how I’d like to see that.

Yes, you’re right about Broomhilda. What a jerk she is. Marxist!

The only concern I’ve got is that the Deviant will issue an EO on these treaties. He is bold enough to do it. He needs to have these things in place to bring us completely down.

      HooRah! 😀

I get to thank both my senators, Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell.

LOST is an international power grab. Those who voted for LOST violated their oath to uphold the Constitution. Remember in November of 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018.

  4. Here is the list of the senators who did not vote with the other 34 republicans against the LOST Treaty:

    Black Listed:

    Liza Murkowski Alaska
    John McCain Arizona
    Susan Collins Maine
    Olympia Snow Maine
Scott Brown Mass this guy has never been a republican . He votes with the Commies.
    Richard Luger Indiana
    Mark Kirk
    Illinois
This is an odd one since Kirk stood with Rand Paul and Mike Lee against the NDDA.

I think I got all 7 of them. If anyone sees a mistake let me know. I’m trying to do this asap.

  5. The list of those who did not support this is typical. I’m STUNNED McConnell voted to kick this one. And,in typical fashion,I see NO dhimmi voting to kick it. Figures.

    • clyde,

We rode McConnell pretty hard here in the ole KY state. He’s been getting flooded with letters on these treaties. The funny thing is, he wrote me a letter telling me he doesn’t even want us to be in the UN anymore. He said it serves no purpose to us and just is a drain on our budget. He said he would like to see us completely remove ourselves from the UN.

    • clyde,

No there were no dummies who voted against this Treaty. Every last one of those commies need to GO. They are traitors if you ask me.

  6. July 17, 2012

    Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pepperhawk,

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this issue.

In 2009, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reversed the Bush Administration’s stance
and said the United States government would be open to talks regarding a United Nations (UN) Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). UN delegates have been pushing for international standards to control the import, export and transfer of conventional weapons, including small arms such as handguns and rifles, for many years. ATT has the possibility of threatening regulations on private firearms ownership within the United States.

In February 2012, UN delegates completed their final round of preparation talks to discuss how the negations of ATT will take place before talks begin in July 2012.

There are many in Washington who give lip service to the Second Amendment, but vote to restrict gun ownership once they begin serving in public office. Gun control laws only restrict access to responsible gun ownership. I remain opposed to this and to any other gun control laws. I stand fully behind the Second Amendment and our national sovereignty.

Though there are no guarantees President Obama will sign any potential ATT, but should ATT come before the Senate for ratification I will vote against it.

In hopes of preventing the U.S. from participating in the negotiations, Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) introduced, and I cosponsored, the Second Amendment Sovereignty Act of 2012 (S. 2205). This legislation would prohibit funding from the United States to be used in any connection with the negotiation of ATT.

    S. 2205 has been referred to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, of which I am not a member, where it awaits further consideration.

    Sincerely,

    Rand Paul, MD
    United States Senator

At least we got one vote against the ATT so far.

The Senate Republicans blocked the Disclose Act yesterday, another victory for our side. I believe that was voted down by all 41 Repub Senators.

  8. It is good news. However, with a few wins isn’t it strange how loud the message is that the left is winning? They may finally be up against the wall, but as far as they’re concerned they’re winning. I think some of them believe they won in Wisconsin.

    • Bull,

It is strange how the socialist/commie party and the Dictator are giving out the loud and clear message that they are for big government. Yes, they do believe they are winning so the mask comes off the whole sorry lot of them. And the dictator is not using his teleprompter so he is slipping up everywhere he goes, saying things that are outrageous, letting people to see behind the curtain just who he really is. i keep hoping those people who are undecided, will see through him finally. Plus Romney is finally fighting back hard.
