The door is closed; either sex or spending
The news was bubbling last week about Obama’s flop-flip to endorse same-sex marriage. This weekend I heard a strategist frame celebration of Mother’s Day as an endorsement of gay marriage. So Dems’ strategy now is to tie every issue, no matter how far removed, to support for gay marriage. Work gay marriage into any political discussion. Sickening.
Worse than that whole issue – redefining “evolution” – and the news media gushing over it, was the presidential weekly address. He made it an all out partisan affair yet completely ignored same-sex marriage. That’s right; if it is not about sex, as in women just having enough free contraceptives or same-sex marriage, then it must be about spending more money in the face of red ink as far as you can see.
Never mind that most Americans are very concerned about the out of control federal Leviathan and its big spending, Obama lobbies for yet another freshly minted big-spending plan. If there is an economic problem, the answer is spending more money. If the economy were in good shape, the answer would still be spending more money. Got it? The answer will always be “spend mo’ money” no matter what the question.
This week he invented a “to do list” for Congress, just like the one Michelle gives him. Then tells everyone to push their reps to “start crossing things off” his list. He takes condescension to a whole new level.
Obama’s “to do list” in reality is only another plan for somewhere around 34.5 billion in new spending, on top of his 400+ billion dollar plan Congress has already refused.
So the next time your wife gives you a “to do list”, pay attention. It might be just another eye-popping spending plan. Whether you can afford it or not doesn’t matter. Beware, the only way to cross items off the list could be by spending huge sums of money you don’t have. I’m sure you will be anxious to comply with her wishes. Well, its either that or go back to talking about sex and contraceptives, your choice.
