Who Has The Power?

DAVE TAYLOR is a guest writer who wrote the following article.   The Hawk and I like to have guest writers appear on our blog for extra interest, fresh ideas, or for that writer’s views.  We like to “kick it up a notch” on occasion.

Please feel free to comment as usual.

WHO really has the power in the United States? Is it the President? It would certainly seem so with our current President. Obama has ignored Congressional permission, ignored our Constitution and broken laws by using Executive Orders to further his own Socialist political agenda.

In ONE attempt to finally stop his lawless ways, many states sued because “Obamacare” is unconstitutional and is heading to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has the power to declare “Obamacare” unconstitutional and kill it dead in its tracks. So does the Supreme Court have the most power?

Each SCOTUS member has a lifetime appointment nominated by the current sitting President. The nominee is obviously going to have the same political outlook as the President that nominated them, so whichever party is the majority appoints  justices  to the SCOTUS who can  impose their political “mantra” on our country. That gives the Supreme Court a tremendous amount of power to reshape our current laws. Obama got two of his left-wing, socialist friends on the Supreme Court when the Democrat’s had full control of approval. So, we know have two socialists (if not outright communist) sitting on the highest court in our Republic based country with the power to reshape our laws.

Due to the fact that Congress approves Supreme Court nominee’s and passes laws (that can override a decision the Supreme Court imposed on our country) , do they have the most power? It would seem so, but it comes down to what party holds the greatest number in the House and what party holds the greatest in the Senate. If the same party holds the most in both, then Congress is extremely powerful. If the same party’s majority is large enough, they can even pass laws that the current sitting President vetoes.

Unfortunately, during the first two years of Obama’s Presidency, the liberal Democrats had the majority in the Senate and the House and passed both his SCOTUS nominees and every socialistic bill that Obama wanted passed. Our country has paid and continues to pay a very heavy price due to Obama’s intention’s to turn the United States into a socialistic country.

So who really holds the power in our country? In my opinion, the answer is quite simple. The registered voters in our country have the real power. Registered voters place all of Congress and the President into office. Registered voters can disallow our rewriting our Constitution  and to keep our Republic  in place in our country.  Registered voters need to vote for citizens running for office that will keep our constitution safe, abide by our Constitution and keep this great country a Republic…not let it turn into a Socialist, Communist or Marxist State.  So, shame on all of you that voted for Obama and all the liberal loony Congressmen that are trying to destroy our great country.  If you are not registered…then double shame on you!

  1. Hi Dave,

You make some interesting points and finally it comes down to we the voters and you’re correct. It is we the voters who elect people we feel that will do a good job for all Americans.

The problem is that in some cases we have more people voting then are registered. In some other cases we have people climbing out of graves to vote. We need a way that only allows legal US citizens to vote. We all have SS cards so why can’t we have a voter card with a chip on it that could be scanned before we vote, to insure you only vote once. It could have your picture or something else to prove who you are.

      Dogged,

I totally agree with you about the problems of “cheat” voting that goes on every single election. It is absurd in this day and age! I remember dems raising h.e.-doublehokeysticks when certain states were insisting you at least have to show a legal drivers license at the voting booth prior to voting. That rule has been in place in KY for years and we’re suppose to be the hillbilly’s? It is always the dems that want to try and stop any kind of proper monitoring at the voting booth and I think we all know why. Thanks so much for your input Dogged!

  2. My 2 cents…
Technically that is true. However, the real power to influence those votes lies in the media, which is controlled by special interest money, and corporate lobbyists that hawk money at the media. The media holds a tremendous influence over the populous (dumb ass voters).

Those of us paying attention know what is going on and what is BS. The rank and file American does not. Many don’t care enough to vote which is OK by me since I am of the opinion that if they need to be coddled to vote they would probably vote democrat anyway. Best to leave a stupid dog lay on the porch. Look how 2008 turned out when the clueless college kids voted for that bat-eared moron now sitting in the White House.

The elections of 2010 only favored us because the adults voted. The kids stayed home since the “hope & change” that was promised failed to appear.

The lobbyists in this country wield a tremendous influence over which legislation is introduced or rewritten. The only times voters get involved if they are informed about which law sucks. Other than that, they remain complacent like sheep, but God forbid if Monday night football was canceled.

The amendment (I forget which) that allowed non-landowners to vote should be repealed or amended to apply only to land owners and taxpayers. If you have skin in the game, you get to choose your master.

Special interest money in the form of campaign contributions must also be made illegal. Term limits for congress critters should be on the table as well.

  3. Good post,Dave. You are spot-on in that we,the voters DO have the power, unfortunately for us,there are WAY too many of these voters who obviously agree with the socialist notion. The ONLY way to end that,IMHO,is to somehow get the educational system in this country OUT of the ideology business.

      Clyde,

I think you nailed it! Hardnox brought up an excellent point of how the kids voted in 2008. Kids today are just deluged from first grade all the way up to college with ultra liberal teachers that brainwash the kids year after year. Kids today have no idea what is really going on and they are not going to find out by the overrun liberal media (not that they watch news anyway…they spend all their time on their cell phones sending text messages or using their app’s). We have got to clean up our educational system and get back to “real teaching” and not “liberal brainwashing teaching.” Great comment Clyde!

    Hardnox,

I cannot disagree with any of your comment’s. The mainstream media is now overrun with liberal basis and it is almost impossible to get the real truth out to the public. Kid’s these days are also overrun by liberal teacher’s (from elementary school all the way up to college) that brainwash our kids for up to sixteen years with their liberal agenda. Kid’s today are now just sheep of the left. The kids protesting today most of the time don’t even know what the protest is about. They are so damn stupid they don’t even recognize they are protesting against companies that provide these spoiled “rug rats” with all their little toys they just can’t leave alone. Special interest money made illegal, yes! Term limits for congress, by all means yes! That should have been done when term limits were imposed on the President due to ultra socialist FDR. I would also like to add that I believe lobbyists should be made illegal. Thanks for your very well thought out input…you’re spot on!

  5. Dave,

The media is an arm of the Obama administration and the socialist movement, or progressive as they like to play with words. Dumb asses fall for the “word” revisions, we don’t. Unfortunately today there are too many people who are too lazy to do any of their own homework on a candidate and elect someone from a nano second sound bite.

A historical source has been found for one variant of this quote: Boris Bazhanov’s Memoirs of Stalin’s Former Secretary, published in 1992:

“You know, comrades,” says Stalin, “that I think in regard to this: I consider it completely unimportant who in the party will vote, or how; but what is extraordinarily important is this — who will count the votes, and how. ”

So, we have a huge problem with who counts the votes also. Besides who votes, dead people, illegals, probably Hezbollah, and Hamas on top of it. Without knowing who all is in this country, and an administration who wants no identification to vote, how in the hell do we get a fair election?

Good points. This is why I think the bigger concern is Congress and the Senate. We need to put a hedge between the executive and the will of the people…whether the president is Obama or Republican. Everyone is fixated on the presidential but the two houses are just as important, especially now. And if we are to halt Obama in his tracks, we need to have the ability to do it. It is also interesting how is campaign is running against Congress this time. And he keeps pointing his socialist finger at them (poking then in the eye) even as they’ve only been in the majority less than a year.

      privbullright,

I agree with you 100% (and have told many friends in private) our main concern needs to be taking all of congress back from the liberals. It would also be great to get a large enough majority to be able to override any of Obama’s vetoes. Sorry if this sounds like I am talking in the future assuming Obama will be re-elected, but the way the repub candidates are acting right now I have to assume the worse and focus on congress.

All Obama can do is point his finger and place blame on others, because he has “zero” accomplishments that he can brag about. If he didn’t place blame on others or further shove his personal agenda of turning our Republic into a socialistic society, he would have nothing to say in front of a camera! Thanks for your comment and I am in absolute agreement with you!

How right you are! The Zero doesn’t even bother to mention the repub candidates because he’s counting on destroying the repub majority by calling them a do nothing congress. He is such a sly piece of nothingness.

Obama is extremely smart at being deceiving (when trying to hide his real socialistic agenda) and cunning by letting the rebup candidates destroy themselves. He only has to focus on more deception showing his great ablility to lie screaming “do nothing congress.” That is about the only thing this inept man can do…

Dave , we should have no regrets for expecting the worst. Sometimes I hear Zeros quotes played on Fox, the message seems to be he can never get reelected.Bad as he is we are foolish to dismiss his chances, or the similar problem of a turncoat Rhino who thinks he’s he’s going to appease Democrats and score points. We need to be prepared for a fight either way….remembering amnesty as just one example.(it may even take more strength for the later scenario)

So right you are! We can never assume the worst president we’ve ever had to endure (well, Jimmy Carter and/or FDR run a damn close second) can’t be re-elected. The lib’s will come out in swarms to vote. If the repubs can’t put up something better than another “McCain”, then just like 2008 to many repub voters will sit home and not even vote. We have to put our main focus on the congress. We cut deeply into the dems control during midterm elections with the Tea Party catching voters attention and we took back the House. It is now time to take back the Senate. I think the independent voter’s like the Tea Party talk. Hopefully they can also walk the walk. Great point PBR.

    Pep,

You’re spot on about the media! The media is now completely overrun with loony liberals. They are more than happy to use their tremendous influence to exactly shape the news being spewed out now 24/7-365 to the viewers furthering the loony liberal agenda. The other sad news to go along with that is in reality dems are going to vote democratic and repubs are going to vote republican; even without knowing the candidate or his true political beliefs. It is sad to say that the far majority of dems and repub voters are “sheep” that just follow their leader. You are very much correct when you say people today are too damn lazy to go on an actual fact finding mission about who is running for office. It is up in the air which way the independents will vote, but hopefully they will correct their mistake of 2008 when they return to the polls in 2012.

Your comment about “who counts the votes” is certainly a very severe problem and not just a problem today, but has been around for a while. I seem to remember Nixon running against Kennedy for President, but somehow, someway…a lot of supposedly sealed and secured voting machines up and just “disappeared” in Chicago. No one could explain it. But, they were able to locate them after the election was over and the votes contained inside were the useless. The loony left doesn’t want anyone to have to do anything to prove they are a legal, living citizen afforded the privilege by our great country of getting to vote. Any measure put in place would prevent the illegals (some very nasty people as you used as examples) from helping further the loony leftist agenda. With the current system in place, I don’t think in reality we can have a fair election and that is exactly what the loony left wants. Great comment pep bringing in another way the loony left is destroying our country!

      Gray Ghost,

It is so true that so many voters focus on one thing and one thing only when deciding who to vote for in elections. The “blood suckers” of our society only care about their free handouts from the government, so they will vote for the loony left every time. In my opinion, SS, Medicare and Medicaid are funded by taxes and are legitimate entitlement programs. I believe welfare should be abolished. If you did work and pay taxes into anything, then you don’t deserve to get anything back.

The three entitlement programs I am comfortable with are only in trouble, because the taxes that were taken from our paychecks to fund them has been blown on other “stupid” special interest projects. How well would SS, Medicare and Medicaid be right now, if all the “billions” of stimulus Obama stupidly threw into the wind (that did “zero” to help our economy) had been simple set aside for these three entitlement programs that are funded by our taxes? I am no math expert, but I would assume those many billions set aside for the sole purpose to fund those three entitlement programs and accruing interest would have helped a lot. Great comment Gray Ghost and you brought to surface another big problem about how voters vote.
